Anyone who is interested in the potato industry is invited to see the new variety demonstration plots and learn about current research. Chipping, fresh market and French fry types will be on display in the field. This includes elite selections from the National Potato Breeding Program-AAFC, promising lines from industry breeders and many more!

10:00-10:30: Coffee and welcome at the building
10:30-11:45: Tour of variety trial plots with Vanessa Currie
11:45- 12:30: Lunch provided at the building
12:30–2:00: Featured research presentations:

  • Andy Colton, School of Environmental Science.
    • Semiochemical-Based Strategies for Managing Colorado Potato Beetle: Attraction and Repellency.  
  • Narges Atabaki, Department of Plant Agriculture.
    • Sustainable potato farming in Canada: Boosting soil health, productivity and climate adaptation.
