Minor use label expansion granted for KanemiteTM 15 SC miticide for control of mites on eggplant, caneberries and tree nuts

The Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) recently announced the approval of a minor use label expansion for KANEMITE^TM 15 SC MITICIDE for control of two-spotted spider mites on caneberries, eggplant and tree nuts in Canada. KANEMITE^TM 15 SC MITICIDE was already labeled in Canada for management of mites on pome fruit and outdoor ornamentals.

The minor use projects for eggplant and caneberries were sponsored by Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada, Pest Management Centre (AAFC-PMC) and submitted in 2007 and 2010 in response to minor use priorities identified by producers and extension personnel in Canada. The minor use project for tree nuts was sponsored by the minor use office of OMAF/MRA in 2010.

These registrations will provide producers with another pest management and resistance management tool to help manage this common pest problem of caneberries, eggplants and tree nuts in Canada.

The following is provided as a general, abbreviated outline for eggplant only. Users should consult the complete label before using Kanemite^TM 15 SC miticide.

Kanemite^TM 15 SC miticide should be used in an integrated pest management program and in rotation with other management strategies. This product is toxic to aquatic organisms. Do not contaminate any body of water by direct application, cleaning of equipment or disposal of wastes.

Follow all other precautions and directions for use on the  Kanemite^TM 15 SC miticide label.
