The Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) recently announced the approval of URMULE registrations for SuccessTM and EntrustTM Insecticides for control of cabbage maggot on greenhouse broccoli transplants in Canada. SuccessTM and EntrustTM Insecticides were already labeled for use on many crops in Canada for a number of pests.
These minor use projects were submitted by Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada, Pest Management Centre (AAFC-PMC) in 2014 as a result of minor use priorities established by growers and extension personnel.
The following is provided as an abbreviated, general outline only. Apply SuccessTM or EntrustTM as a drench before transplanting broccoli to the field. Users should consult the complete label before using SuccessTM and EntrustTM Insecticides.
|Greenhouse broccoli transplants||Cabbage maggot||Success – 12.5 mL per 1,000 plants
Entrust – 25 mL per 1,000 plants
These products are highly toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment, drift or residues on blooming plants. Do not apply these products or allow them to drift to blooming plants if bees are visiting the treatment area. These products are harmful to parasitoids and predatory mites and slightly harmful to foliage-dwelling predators. SuccessTM and EntrustTM Insecticide are also toxic to aquatic invertebrates. Do not contaminate off-target areas or aquatic habitats when spraying or when cleaning and rinsing spray equipment or containers.
Follow all other precautions and directions for use on the SuccessTM and EntrustTM Insecticide labels carefully.
