New cucurbit downy mildew fungicide

Elaine Roddy, OMAFRA Vegetable Crop Specialist, Guelph

A new product has recently been registered for the control of downy mildew in cucurbits.    Presidio Fungicide (fluopicolide) offers a new mode of action for growers to add to their fungicide rotation.  Apply Presidio as a tank-mix with Bravo fungicide.  Do not make sequential applications of this product.  Presidio is a group 43 fungicide.  Always rotate to a product from a different chemical family.  Presidio has a 2-day pre-harvest interval.  Follow the rotational restrictions listed on the product label.
