There have been several miticide registrations for field vegetable crops recently in Canada. To help you keep track, here are some quick reference tables for fruiting vegetables.
Spider mites are usually kept under control by natural enemies, but populations may explode when conditions are very favourable to mites or after natural enemies populations have been set back by insecticide applications. Some organophosphate and pyrethroid insecticides actually cause the spider mites to reproduce at a faster rate.
